Summer is with us and so is the Medieval Festival!

HELP WEALDEN and FOLK ROUNDABOUT!

WE’RE LOOKING FOR A NEW EDITOR to take charge of your local Wealden,
Heathfield, Mayfield, Horam, Blackboys & Etchingham magazine and this local website, so … anyone out there with any ideas? Anyone out there with a passion for keeping this fantastic community informed?

Contact us here at Flea if you’ve an inkling of who may just be the right man (or woman!) for the job – we’re looking for someone who enjoys getting people talking and in turn, doesn’t mind being talked about, someone who wants to help make a difference perhaps (and earn some extra income as well)!

***********************

Our front cover shows "Buxom Wench", a feature, again of the Herstmonceux Medieval Festival in it's sixteenth year and running over the August bank holiday ... much more than just a buxom wench though ...

... shooting, jousting, falconry, beer tent, medieval food, medieval music, archery for big keds and little kids, Jesters and - did we mention the beer tent? If it all becomes a little too much you can always stay at the Castle you know? Now there's an idea! Contact the good folk inside these pages.

It’s funny how things start, a chance remark, a question asked… Someone mentioned a broken shop window, someone else said, “Not enough to do in Heathfield.” I asked, “What did you do when you were a teenager in Heathfield?” The answer was Surprising. “I used to go to the race track at Cross in Hand…” We’ve more inside this issue – check the index to the left of this column.

This issue is brimming with competitions – HAVE A GO! Priceless Treasures competition WIN, WIN, WIN, 3 Memories Books to be won. Priceless Treasures are ideal for family presents.

Grace has been out and about and we have another glimpse into her doggy world although she won't be allowed in Herstmonceux - unless she's on a lead!

See our list of Forthcoming Events for what's coming up in this local area throughout the year – you can display your events for FREE on FLEA you know??

So get in touch now –

  • are you, or do you know a budding Editor please?
  • any local gossip or ...
  • an event in the planning?

… better still, let's be havin’ all three!

We look forward to hearing from you, soon!

Until then, fare thee well & huzzah!
